I like Staples though, it's a slower more relax work place then the money hungering Future Shop store. Seriously commission sales people there, well at least in the computer department, are sharks. I had to meet an unreachable daily quota of about $2800 a day in sales. With 3-4 commission sales people snagging all my sales left right and center this made the task that much more impossible. My best day I believe was $2100. Not to mention on boxing day I worked 15 hours and I got the only till with no scanner, they made me cashier for that day. So I had to punch in EVERY UPC manually. No one wanted to piss me off after about 7 hours I was on the verge of strangling ignorant customers.
Here's a tip for you if you ever go into a retail store. If you see only 1 person working in one department. DON'T BE A BITCH AND GET PISSED OFF AT THE WORKER! I try to help everyone as fast as I can and I prioritize my customers based on what they want and how hastely I can get what they want. You walk in and want a computer and another person walks in and wants ink, I'm helping the fucker with the damn ink first cuz a computer sale takes more then 3 minutes and you can wait. Most people are understanding, but I had some retard walk in today wanting to by an $80 dollar pen that we keep in a glass case and I didn't have the keys, because I don't work in that section. I told him I'd get help for him as quick as I could, another gentlemen asked for ink toner as I was going to the front desk to page, told him I'd do my page and help him. Did it started looking for his toner, couldn't find it, lady asked my for a 5 port DLINK hub to which I replied "Sorry miss I have 2 other people, and I'm the only one on the floor for computers right now, but I can tell you exactly what the package looks like and where to find it" She seemed satisfied and sure enough she found it. Asshole who wanted his stupid pen was walking out and I told him that the manager should be there shortly, manager was receiving new stock and didn't get out in time. So pen man left the store and gave me the dirtiest look. He's lucky I never found out what he drives.
Moral of the story, not every salesperson is neglegent of customers, infact the only ones that are I find are the ones on commission since they only talk to you if it's in their wallet's best interest. I get paid to help people out wether you want photo paper or $5000 dollars of computer equipment. Do salespeople around the world a favour and grab some patience, nothing makes you feel like you're not doing your job right then someone who is impatient and makes you feel bad because they think you didn't try hard enough to help them.
PS.
I'm drafting up some ideas to post more stuff here D=
